7-day Special NSS Camp on the theme “Empowering Youth for a better Future” from 12th December, 2024 to 18th December,2024

Under the able guidance of College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara is organizing a 7-day NSS special camp on the theme “Empowering Youth for a better future”. The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest ,Prof.(Dr.) Amarjit Singh,Former Dean ,Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana with a ribbon cutting followed by a lamp lighting ceremony.College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal,Vice Principal,Dr. Ruminder Kaur , NSS Programme Officers,Dr. Lalit kumar and Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Mr. Kuldeep Singh extended a floral welcome to the chief guest. The day commenced with a Shabad, poem recitation and NSS song by NSS Volunteers. The volunteers were shown PPTs of the activities of the previous NSS camps.An extension lecture by the Chief Guest cum Resource Person,Dr. Amarjit Singh was also organized. He addressed the volunteers and enlightened them about the importance of empowering the youth .  He also educated them about the entrepreneurial skills for the young generation . NSS Programme Officer,Ms. Nidhi Jassal enlightened the volunteers that NSS is not just a programme,but it is a mission to educate the youth about community service .She said that this camp is also an effort towards fulfilling this mission for the volunteers to learn, serve and grow. Various committees were also formed on the first day of the camp.In the evening, a motivational lecture by NSS National Awardee,Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Principal Sikh National College , was organized for the volunteers. Dr. Tarsem motivated the volunteers to serve the nation with pride and a sense of responsibility towards helping needy. NSS volunteers cleaned the lawn of the college campus. College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal, delivered a vote of thanks and appreciated the joint efforts put in by NSS Programme Officers, Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar.
