KNCW bag champions trophy in Zonal Youth Festival
The young talent of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara once again proved their mettle in the D Zone Zonal Youth Festival by lifting the Champion’s Trophy along with host college Hindu Kanya College,Kapurthala. The four day festival was organized by Youth Welfare department of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar.Registrar GNDU Amritsar, Dr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon was the chief guest at the valedictory function.College Principal received the trophy from Dr. Dhillon along with Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare,GNDU, Principal Hindu Kanya College Dr. Archna Garg and College Chairman Mr. Tilak Raj Aggarwal.
In total 33 items will be held during these four days in which 14 college of Kapurthala and Nawanshahr district participated. The teams which stood first and second in the competition, will now get a chance to participate in the Inter Zonal youth festival which will be held at GNDU Amritsar in the month of November.
During these four days, KNCW bagged the following Prizes
First Position: Group Song (Indian), Painting on the Spot, On the Spot Photography, Poster Making, Folk Orchestra, Costume Parade, Mime, Folk Song, Skit, Poetical Symposium and Debate
Second Position: Group Shabad/Bhajan, Cartooning, Collage, Installation, Geet/Ghazal, Rangoli, Phulkari,Vaar Singing and Elocution
Third Position: Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Clay Modeling, Mimicry, Kawishri, Group Dance, Quiz, Western Vocal, Western Group Song and Gidha.
President, college Managing Committee Mr. IK Sardana and Principal Dr. Kiran Walia congratulated the participants and the teacher in charges and wished them all the best to continue the winning streak in the coming years as well. The trophy was received in the college premises amid dance and beats of dhol.
