KNCW students conduct survey on POTUS
Coming as a surprise, businessman Donald Trump became the 45 th President of the Unites
States of America. The decision got mixed reactions with some Americans showing support for
Trump while other coming out on streets in protest.
Following this development, the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara conducted a survey on this current issue in the college premises and took the views of the faculty and the students.
While sharing her views, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia said that she was surprised by the result as her choice was Hillary Clinton because she would have loved to see a woman become
the leader of the USA.
The same surprise was reflected by the other faculty members of the college. Sandeep Kaur and Poonam Kaur from the department of Commerce said that Trump becoming the POTUS would be good for trade relations between India and America, but it could become a problem for Indians who are staying in America. Prof. Kulkaran Singh from Science department added that as of now it seems that Trump is pro China, which could become a problem for India.
The students of the college also said that Trump will maintain good relations with India since it is among the most preferred nations as far as business activities are concerned.
