A workshop on ‘Heart and Lifestyle Diseases Prevention and Management’ was held at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara on Monday, April 10, 2017.Dr. Deepak Puri, Director of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from Max Superspeciality Hospital, Mohali was the chief guest at the occasion. While addressed the students, he talked at length about lifestyle diseases, the risk factors of lifestyle diseases and the preventive measures that can be taken. He also talked about the diseases like obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart diseases, etc. which have unfortunately become common now-a- days. Dr. Puri also answered the queries put by the students and staff of the college.

The workshop was organized by the Home Science and Nutrition and Dietetics Department of the college. College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia thanked Dr. Puri for taking out his precious time. She also congratulated the Home Science and Nutrition and Dietetics department for organizing the workshop.
