The installation of Central Association (CA) for the academic session 2017-18 was held at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara during a special assembly held on Monday.
16 students from various departments of the college were selected to be part of the association, the objective of which is to ensure cleanliness and discipline in the college.
Anjali Gupta was chosen as the Head Girl for the session, while Mehak Duggal became Vice Head Girl. Besides, students from various departments were chosen to look after the posts of Secretary, Vice Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer and Public Relations Officers.
Principal of the College Dr. Kiran Walia along with Central Association in charges Dr. Asha Sharma, Ms. Purnima, Ms. Diana and Ms. Swati gave away batches and tags to the association members. On the occasion, Principal Madam congratulated the CA members and motivated them to perform their duty with utmost dedication.
Earlier, during the assembly, Ms. Ekaterina who has recently joined the college as an IELTS trainer was introduced to the students. On the occasion, she gave a detailed account of the four modules covered in IELTS and how students need to prepare for them.
On the occasion, a street play and a documentary on the theme of women empowerment was showcased for the students of the college and the winners of various competitions held in the college recently were awarded by Principal Madam and Vice Principal Ms. Gurjeet Kaur.
