On the occasion of superannuation of Ms. Upinder Kaur, Head of Home Science, the entire family of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara gave a warm farewell to her at a special function held at college premises on Tuesday. President of College Managing Committee Mr. I K Sardana, members of college managing committee, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia and the entire college staff attended the function and congratulated Ms. Upinder for completing her 37 years of service in the college.   Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia remembered the outstanding works done by Ms. Upinder in the college and added that the college will always remember her as a very hard working and dedicated staff member.

On the occasion, various performances by the department of music were held. Later, a PPT depicting the memories and achievements of Ms. Upinder was presented and a citation was read by Ms. Manju, Head of English Department. On behalf of H.sc. department Ms. Priyanka and on behalf of the staff members, staff secretary Dr. Anita Gogna spoke about her contribution during her professional career. They said that Ms. Upinder done excellent work in college. She was always ready to perform her duty with full enthusiasm and honesty. Later, Ms. Upinder and her family members were honoured by the members of the management, College Principal and staff members.

Thanking the college for the celebration, Ms. Upinder emotionally recalled her time spent in the college.  She added that the college is an integral part of her life and something that she will miss a lot in the coming days.
