Under the able guidance of College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal , NSS unit , NCC Wing & Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated 75th anniversary of Independence of India in association of “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. On this occasion Dr Savinder Pal, College Principal hoisted the National flag along with staff members, NCC cadets and students . This proud moment was followed by National Anthem.The celebration has been continuing with pledge taking on 8th August, Film documentary on the importance of tricolour on 9th August, Extension lecture on the importance of Tiranga by Mrs. Kamlesh (HOD History) on 10th August, Selfie with Tiranga campaign on 11th August, Poster making and pot decoration competition on the theme of Har Ghar Tiranga on 12th August, a rally and online patriotic song competition on 13th August. The final diamond in the crown was the flag hoisting to mark the special occasion.The ceremony ended with a highly motivational speech by Principal Dr. Savinder pal who not only threw light on the long and consistent efforts put in by freedom fighters for the country but also urged the students for collective consciousness to achieve collective excellence. She urged the students to fulfil their duties towards the country with full devotion and dedication. She emphasized that all of us would be independent in true sense only if we go for collective development instead of isolated progress. She applauded the enthusiasm of students and effort put in by staff to organize the event. At the end Dr. Savinder Pal along with staff members distributed sweets to the students.Dr. Savinder Pal appreciate the joint efforts of Dr Lalit kumar NSS Programme officer , Ms Nidhi jassal NSS Programme officer, Dr Palwinder NCC-CTO, Dr Priyanka Aeri Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat for making the celebration a grand success.
