The NSS unit, Red Ribbon Club and Department of Home Science of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised an extension lecture and Medical Camp by Inner Wheel Club, Phagwara and Inner Wheel Club South East Phagwara, on ‘General health and cancer awareness’. Among the speakers were Dr. Anju of New Ruby Hospital, Jalandhar, Dr. Seema Rajan of Dr. Rajan Eye Care Hospital, Phagwara. 700 students and staff attended this lecture. Ms. Saroj Pabbi, President IWC, Phagwara, Mrs. Santosh Kumari, President, IWC Phagwara South East explained the main aim of the camp. The Lecture was about the awareness of Breast Cancer  and importance of Mammography in treating Breast Cancer. Afterwards medical camp for detection of anemia of adolescent girls was also organised. About 100 students and staff of the college got their Anaemia checked up. Breast cancer detection test was also done of about 50 staff members and other ladies of Phagwara city.  College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, extended her vote of thanks to all the speakers and a special thanks to  Saroj Pabbi, President IWC, Phagwara, for her efforts in organising the event. She also thanked Dr. Priyanka Aeri, Ms. Priyanka Mankhand, Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Mrs. Reema Madan Joshi for conducting such a wonderful event.
