Under the able guidance of the College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru
College for Women, Phagwara organised Voter awareness activities on 4th March,2024. On this
occasion , an awareness drive spreading awareness about one’s voting rights was organised. Dr.
Ruminder kaur, Vice Principal addressed the students and awared them about their voting
rights . She also advised them to make the best use of their right. Ms. Nidhi Jassal from department of Commerce and NSS Programme Officer also addressed the students . She enlightened the students about their voting rights and how they should utilize them in an appropriate way. She also informed them about the process of getting themselves enrolled
along with the documents needed to eligible to be a voter. They were also instructed about
how they can be a part of nation’s development and growth by selecting the right candidate
who would contribute towards the better future of the nation. After this informative lecture,
the volunteers took pledge to use their voting rights in the most appropriate way . A rally was
also carried out by the volunteers uttering the slogan . About 70 volunteers became a part of
these activities.College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal appreciated the efforts put in by NSS
Programme Officers, Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar and encouraged them to organise
more such informative sessions in the future also.
