Under the able guidance of College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal, PG Department of Commerce of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated World Consumer Rights Day on 3rd April, 2024. On this occasion a power point presentation was shown to the students by Ms. Shivani Malhotra, Assistant Professor in Department of Commerce to make the students aware of their consumer rights and duties. lShe also explained the Grievance Redressal Mechanism in case of any issues with the products bought and also told consumer helpline numbers to get advice if required. A Nukkad Natak (Directed by Ms Aarti Sharma) was also played by Commerce Club Volunteers. Ms. Sanjna Walia, Head of PG Department of Commerce also addressed the students and enlightened them about the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.  The College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal also addressed the students and enlightened them about their consumer rights and how to exercise these rights. Around 100 students of the department became a part of this celebration. Madam Principal appreciated the efforts put in by Ms. Sanjna Walia, Head of the Department and the faculty members of Commerce Department and motivated them to organise more such events in the future
