Under the able guidance of Principal Dr Savinder Pal, Career Orientation Council and IQAC of Kamla
Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized a ‘Placement Fair’ in college on 16th April, 2024.
“District Employment Officer Dr Varun Joshi” was the Keynote speaker in this event. Mr Kewal Singh,
Business Development Manager, IFM Mohali, and Mr Ravi Lochan Kumar & Mr Lakhwinder Singh from
Shri Ram Finance Ltd. addressed the students of BCom, BBA, BCA, BSc, MCom and MSc final year classes.
In this very interactive session an extensive guidance was provided to students regarding field and
ground jobs. Mr Kewal Singh described very well about the job roles of Axis Bank, Yes Bank and Kotak
Mahindra Bank. He also expounded the benefits and facilities of different jobs of sales and operations,
bank accounts, credit cards, sale of products, online banking like UPI and Paytm, sale of bank products
and digitalization of banks. On the othe hand Mr Ravi Lochan from Shri Ram Finance discussed benefits
of FD, RD, Personal Loans, Insurance, Gold loans and Housing loans. He mainly focused on women
empowerment. It was very interactive and beneficial session for the students. A total of 105 students
attended this placement fair. Dr Savinder Pal, Principal of the college expressed her gratitude to the
resource persons, commending their insightful contribution and encouraged the organizers Ms Sanjna Walia, Mr Harvinder Chouhan, Ms Harmeet Kaur and Ms Priyanka Mankhand to continue organizing similar activities in future.
