Value-Added Skill-Based Course on Computerized Accounting

Under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the PG Department of Commerce has successfully initiated a value-added, skill-based short term course in computerized accounting, focusing on Tally and CATPRO software. The 30-hour course is commenced on June 24, 2024, with an enthusiastic enrollment of nearly 20 students.
Designed to enhance the practical accounting skills of students, the course aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and skills demanded in Industry. Mr. Chirag Jain, a Chartered Accountant, will be the resource person for this program. With his extensive expertise in the field, Mr. Chirag Jain will be providing invaluable insights and hands-on training to the participants.
Throughout the course, students will be engaged in intensive learning sessions, covering various aspects of computerized accounting, from basic operations to advanced functionalities of Tally and CATPRO. The training aims to emphasize real-world applications, ensuring that students are enabled to apply their newfound skills directly in professional settings. This course is a testament to the department’s commitment to fostering practical skills and enhancing employability among students.
Madam Principal appreciated the efforts put in by Ms. Sanjna Walia, Head of the Department, and the faculty members of the Commerce Department, and motivated them to organize more such courses in the future. The department plans to continue offering such program, contributing to the holistic development of its students.
