International women’s day and annual fete was celebrated as a mega event, at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara on 08.03.2022 under the supervision of principal Dr. Savinder Pal. This event was organised by Fashion Designing, Home Science and Fine Arts department. The annual event of the college was graced by chief guest Ms.Nidhi Sardana. On this occasion various guests- Mr. Harvansh Mehta (secretary), Mr.Ramesh Jain (member, College governing council), Dr. Neelam Sethi (ex Principal, SD college Gurdaspur), Ms. Reeta Thapar (Principal, SD Putri Pathshala, Phagwara), sr. Inderjeet Singh ( Principal Govt. Girls School, Chachoki, Phagwara), CA Ms. Reetu Sharma, Ms. Mamta Punj (Principal, SDKMV School, Phagwara) were honoured by principal Dr. Savinder Pal.
In this function various inter school and inter college competitions were also organised where Soni Kumari (SD Putri Pathshala ) Tejasswi Thakur (Govt. School) Yashpreet and Amanpreet Singh (SDKMV school) got first second and third position respectively in best-out-of-waste competition. In Solo Song, Ekamjot (Govt. School) Noordrep Kaur and Vidhi Gautam from KNC Junior College got first second and third position respectively.
Mehak from SDKMV School , Jaspreet Kaur, Neha and simran Bains from SDKMV School got first , second and third position respectively.
In collage making Manjit Kaur and Pallavi from SD Putri Pathshala got first and second position. In rangoli making Tamandeep Kaur, Kanchan Ravat and Gurmeen Kaur from Arya Model got first, second and third position respectively.
In eye makeup competition Jainab, Sanjana, Harpreet and Chahat got first second and third position respectively.
The judges Mr. Inderjeet Pal (Govt. School, Phagwara), Mrs. Balwinder Kaur Riyahal (SDKMV School, Phagwara), Ms. Sheetal Sharma (Cosmotologist) were honoured by the College principal. Other guests included Dr Amarjit (comptroller, Gadwasu) and Dr. Abhaydeep Singh, Sardar Tajinder Pal Singh Saggu and Mrs. Baljinder Kaur Saggu were honoured by college organisers.
Various stalls in the fest such as rides food stalls and games and clothes exhibition which were made by college students was showcased.
In the fest, college students were really excited about the lucky draw and gifts.
The chief guest Nidhi Sardana expressed her delight on the exemplar achievements put forth by students of the college and lauded the efforts of the institution for ensuring an all-round development of its students whilst also stressing the importance of such events to be constantly run parallel to the academics.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Savinder Pal expressed her happiness over the success of the programme and delivered the vote of thanks to everyone. She congratulated the organising committee Dr. Priyanka Aeri, Dr. Sudamani Sood, Dr. Rinka, Madam Harmeet, Madam Manvinder for successfully organising such an event. The stage was enthusiastically conducted by Dr. Asha Sharma, Dr. Palwinder kaur Randhawa and Madam Ankita.
