DC visits KNCW on the occasion of Teej

Celebrations marked the day on Saturday at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara as Teej celebrations and Van Mahotsav was organized at the college premises.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Tayyab was the chief guest at the occasion.  President of college managing committee Sh. I.K. Sardana, Principal of the College Dr. Kiran Walia and President of Environment Association Sh. K.K. Sardana welcomed chief guest Mr. Tayyab. The event was organized by PG Department of Punjabi of the college and Phagwara Environment Association under ‘Mission Tandrust Punjab’.

On the occasion, the DC planted a sapling at the college premises, which was organized by the NSS wing of the college. Post this, a special cultural program was organized by the students, depicting rich Punjabi culture and celebrating the festival of Teej. Speaking on the occasion, the DC threw light on ‘Mission Tandrust Punjab’ and motivated the audience to plant more trees and take concrete measures to safeguard the environment. General Secretary of Phagwara Environment Association, Mr. Malkit Singh Raghotra talked about the importance of planting trees.

President Sh. I.K Sardana and Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia thanked the guests and assured that KNC will actively participated in ‘Mission Tandrust Punjab’. On the occasion, members of College Managing committee, Phagwara Environment Association as well as faculty members and students of the college were present.
