Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised a splendid fresher’s party for welcoming
the newly admitted students of 10+1 and first year and Talent Hunt to unleash and boost the
exceptional talent of the students on August 03,2024. Madam Aman lata, Head, Department of
English was the ‘Guest of Honour’. Dr. Nimrat, Dr. Rinka, Dr. Sudhamani and Madam Anjali were
the organizers of the event. Lit with enthusiasm and excitement, all the students displayed their artistic acumen by performing various cultural items including group dance, solo dance, songs and bhangra. The rounds of modelling by the freshers spell bounded the whole audience.
Shortlisted students reached in the question round and later were adjudged by the judges, Ms
Kamlesh, Ms Geeta Sharma and Ms Monika and Ms Jasleen. Harnoor from Degree College was crowned as ‘Miss KNC Fresher’ Riya and Shamni bagged the
title of first runner up and second runner up respectively. Srishti and Nazia were selected as
‘Miss Confident’ and ‘Miss Graceful’ respectively whereas Radhika was declared as ‘Miss KNCJC
Fresher’ from Junior College, Shaffi and Kamia were chosen as first runner up and second runner
up respectively. Jessica and Naina got the title of ‘Miss Confident’ and ‘Miss Elegant’ respectively. Ms Aman Lata emphasized the need for students to focus on inner beauty and good behavior along with outer beauty. The college Principal welcomed the new students and motivated the students to participate in such events. She further lauded the efforts of the
organizers for making this programme a huge success. At last, refeshment was arranged for the
whole gathering.
