Kamla Nehru Junior College for Women, Phagwara organised a splendid freshers party for welcoming the new faces of class XI on Aug 20,2022. The function commenced with the welcome of chief guest, Ms. Mamta Punj, principal S.D KMV School by presenting a planter and gift by the college principal, Dr. Savinder Pal. Lit with enthusiasm and excitement, all the students displayed their artistic acumen by performing various cultural items including group dance, solo song and bhangra. To add more fun among students some interesting games were organised.The rounds of modelling by the freshers spell bounded the whole audience. Shortlisted students reached in the question round and later were adjudged by the judges, Dr Gurpreet   Kaur and Ms Manvinder kaur. Omika from commerce stream was crowned as Miss Fresher. Ekamjot from Arts and Muskan from Non-Med were chosen as 1st runner up and 2nd runner up.Further, Gunwant from Arts, Muskan from Non-med and Kashish from Arts were declared as Miss beautiful dress, Miss beautiful eyes and Miss confident respectively. Students of class XII put great efforts for making this event memorable for their juniors. Harnoor, XI student gave a Thanku speech.The chief guest, Ms Mamta Punj addressed the students by saying that they are lucky to have chosen this college as they have got platform at the first step of journey for their holistic growth and also motivated them to work hard so that they can rise to the heights of success. Dr. Savinder Pal, college principal wished the students good luck and motivated the students to keep the same zeal and enthusiasm for the whole year. She also lauded the efforts of organisers for successfully organising this function. At last refreshment was arranged for the whole gathering.
