On November,28,2023,In continuation of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,NSS Unit, Department of History and
Department of Political Science of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated ‘Constitution
Day’ under the guidance of College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal. An extension lecture on the importance of
Constitution was organised wherein the Keynote speaker, Dr.Rinka enlightened the students about the
formation of Indian Constitution, rights and duties, laws and rules for the smooth and justful governance
of the country. She also highlighted the basic structure of the Indian Constitution and also elaborated
the fundamental rights given by constitution to every citizen. Around 75 students of the college were
present on this occasion and a Poster Making competition was also organised.To mark the occasion,
pledge was also taken by the college students along with College Principal,Dr. Savinder Pal,Vice
Principal,Dr.Ruminder kaur, organising team,and NSS Programme officers .College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal also addressed the students by making the students aware of the contribution made by Dr.
Ambedkar for its making, composing, and completion. She also appreciated the efforts put in by Ms.
Kamlesh, Dr. Rinka and Programme officers,Dr. Lalit Kumar and Ms. Nidhi Jassal for organising this
event.
