Kamla Nehru College for women, Phagwara organizes an extension lecture on the topic of “Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat” in the remembrance of Punjabi Diwas. A renowned Punjabi poet Dr. Sardool Singh Aunjla, HOD of Punjabi Department, DIPS college, Dhillwan was the keynote speaker of the lecture. Dr. Aunjla delivered his lecture on the importance of Punjabi. He said that we all should give preference to Punjabi as it is our first language. He appealed to everyone to make contribution in the uses of Punjabi language in our homes. Department of Punjabi also organized a poster making competition on this event in which Ms. Tania kaur(10+1), Ms. Harshita (B.A-sem iii) and Ms. Harshpreet Kaur (10+1) got first, second and third prize respectively. Ms. Jasmeen, Ms. Mansi and Ms. Amandeep Kaur also got consolation prizes. At the end, Dr. Ruminder Kaur, HOD Punjabi Department, thanked to Dr. Aunjla for his valuable shared words with students. Principal Dr. Kiran Walia congratulated the Punjabi department for organizing this lecture.
