Giving a compassionate tribute, the students of Kamla Nehru Junior College for Women, Phagwara celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 13, 2017.Principal of the college, Dr. Kiran Walia was the chief guest at the function. To mark the occasion, slogan writing competition, poster making competition and greeting card making competition were held for the students of classes 11 and 12 in all streams. In poster making competition Komal from +1 Commerce stood first; Shukhmani from +2 Arts stood second and Taranjit Kaur from +2 Medical stood third. In Card Making Harman from +2 Arts stood first and Lovepreet Kaur from +1 Commerce stood second.Later in the day, a special program was held in which student’s recited poems, songs and gave speeches dedicated to mothers. Through these, the students expressed their love and thanks to their mothers for giving them unlimited love and being their friend and guide. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kiran Walia extended wishes to all the wonderful mothers. She also gave blessings to the students and motivated them to shower love and respect to their mothers for the innumerable sacrifices they make for their children.
