NSS unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women Phagwara celebrated Red Cross Day in seminar hall. Both the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Priyanka Aeri and Ms. Nidhi Jassal made aware the students about Red Cross. During the lecture it was described that World Red Cross Day is also known as Red Crescent Day which is celebrated on May 8 every year. This date marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, who is the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Students also participated in Essay Writting competition on Red Cross. Deserving students were awarded with first, second and third prizes. Principal Dr Savinder Pal congratulated both the programme officers for making the students aware about Red Cross
