NSS Unit of KNCW organised an Educational and Historical Trip

NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised an Educational and Historical Trip to Dastaan-e-Shahadat, Chamkaur Sahib on 25th February ,2024. During this visit NSS Volunteers were acquainted with the Sikh History and the sacrifices made by the Sikh Gurus, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his sons.They were shown eleven different Audio and Visual shows dealing with varied aspects of the Sikh History. They were informed about the two battles of Chamkaur and also about Sahibzadas ,Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh,Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh who sacrificed their lives to uphold the identity and dignity of Khalsa Panth against the Mughals. They were also enlightened about the valour of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur as he valiantly fought against the coalition forces of the Mughals and provided justice to the Sikh Gurus and the Sahibzadas by killing the persecutors and Mughal
Governor Wazir Khan. Along with the Museum, the volunteers also visited the Gurudwara Garhi Sahib
and Gurudwara Katalgarh Sahib, Chamkaur shahib. The volunteers thoroughly enjoyed this educational
trip . Around 45 students were part of this trip along with the teachers. College Principal, Dr Savinder
Pal appreciated the efforts put in by the NSS Programme Officers, Ms Nidhi Jassal and Dr Lalit Kumar,
and Mr Kamal Kaushal and Ms. Inderpreet Kaur for successfully organizing this trip and motivated them
to organise more such informative trips in future for the enlightenment of the volunteers.
