One-day educational trip to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh
The NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organised a special one-day educational trip to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh by visiting iconic historical sites, including the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Attari-Wagah Border. The visit was aimed at instilling a sense of patriotism and respect for the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The event was led by the NSS Programme Officers, Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar, along with Ms. Inderpreet, accompanied by enthusiastic NSS volunteers. A total of 60 volunteers participated, paying homage at these historically significant sites and reflecting on the sacrifices made by Indian freedom fighters, particularly Bhagat Singh, who is an enduring symbol of youth activism and courage. The volunteers also witnessed the BSF parade at the Attari-Wagah border.Principal Dr. Savinder Pal commended the joint efforts of Ms. Nidhi Jassal, Dr. Lalit Kumar, and Ms. Inderpreet in successfully organising the visit. She expressed her appreciation for the NSS Unit’s commitment to nurturing a deep sense of national pride among the students.This initiative by the NSS Unit not only honoured the legacy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh but also provided the students with an opportunity to connect with the rich history of India’s freedom struggles.
