Second Day of special NSS Camp
The second day, i.e., 13th December, 2024, of the 7-day NSS camp organized by Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, commenced with the worshipping of God followed by a yoga session. A special lecture on the topic “Water Sustainability” by Ms. Sandeep Nandra, Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Commerce, was organized. She explained why water sustainability is important and what are the various ways to be more sustainable with water. The NSS volunteers took a pledge to not waste water in the future but to save it. Followed by this encouraging lecture, NSS volunteers cleaned the college stadium and administrative office. After the cleanliness drive, another lecture on the topic “Mental Wellness and Emotional Health of Youth” by Mr. Sandeep Walia, Managing Partner, Elevation Institute, Kapurthala was organized. College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal and NSS Programme Officers welcomed the resource person with a floral tribute. Mr. Sandeep Walia talked at length about how the emotional well-being of a human being is responsible for his physical well-being. He also showed a PPT to the volunteers about the importance of good mental health.
In the evening, Mr. Walia conducted team-building exercises through interactive games and gave practical knowledge to the volunteers on how team building helps in reducing mental pressure. NSS volunteers thoroughly enjoyed both the sessions by Mr. Walia. Volunteers were also given best participation certificates and gifts by the resource person. The second day of the camp was full of fun and frolic as the students played various games. College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal appreciated the efforts put in by the Programme Officers,Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar as such activities enhance the practical knowledge of the students.
