Teej festival and Van Mahotsav celebrated at KNCW

Festive fervour was seen as department of Punjabi, Science and NSS of Kamla Nehru College for Women,Phagwara celebrated Teej and Van Mahotsav in the college premises under the leadership of College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal on Aug 5,2023. The chief guests of the occasion R.J Pak Pak Deepak, Radio Mirchi, Ms. Manju Sardana, Head of Kamla Nehru College, Madam Jagjit, Principal, Chak Prema were given warm welcome. Apart from eatables, stalls of games, cosmetics, mehndi and phulkari items were the centre of attraction of this fair. Ecstatic students were seen decked up in colourful and traditional attires.
The programme started with the ribbon cutting ceremony by the chief guest. After planting the saplings in the college, the guests entered the hall. The Cultural event which included Giddha , folk song, skit, cultural quiz and guest performance showed tradition in all its myriad shades. The guest of the occasion, R.J Pak Pak Deepak brought the house down with his stellar performance. On this occasion, a pranda competition was also organised in which Sukirti, Riya and Sharanpreet got first, second
and third position respectively.Madam Hardeep Kaur and student Omika won the title “Shoukan Mele di’.
Students also enjoyed swing which was decorated with scented flowers. Selfie corner representing the richness of Punjabi culture caught everyone’s attention.
Dr. Savinder Pal, the college Principal apprised the students of significance of celebrating this festival and conveyed a message that motto of organising various cultural programmes is to keep students to relate and bond with their culture. The function was concluded with Giddha performance.
