The students of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara proved their talent and secured prizes during various competitions held in the college premises on Saturday.
On the occasion of World Photography Day, a photography competition was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the college. The students of the department clicked photographs on the themes ‘Colors of Life’ and ‘Architecture’ and submitted three photos each.
Among the participants, Palwinder Kaur of B.Voc. (JMC) 5 semester secured first position, Tanisha Gupta of B. Voc. (JMC) 5 semester secured second position, Priya Yadav of BAJMC 1 semester secured third position and Niharika and Shaina Sharma of BAJMC 3 semester bagged consolation prizes.
Earlier, PG Department of Computer Science of the college organized Ecstacy IT junoon in which competition like Collage, Debugging, logic whirlpool and Net Savvy were held. Nearly 162 students of various departments of the college participated in the competitions held on the occasion. In debugging Alamjeet Kaur and Priya(BCA Sem V) bagged first prize followed by Jasmeen and Amandeep ( BCA Sem III) second and Manpreet and Manjinder (Msc. C.S Sem III) third. In IT collage Lovely and Manjot (PGDCA) bagged first position followed by Charanjeet and Manpreet (BCA Sem V) got second and Navneet Kaur and Priya (Msc. C.S Sem I) third. Including consolation prize bagged by Stuti and Kambo (PGDCA). In net savy Isha and heena (Msc. C.S Sem III) bagged first, followed by shruti and kambo (PGDCA) second and Lovely and Manjot (PGDCA) third. In Logic whirlpool Alamjeet Kaur and Kirandeep (BCA Sem V) bagged first, Isha and heena (MSc. C.A Sem III) second and Jasmeet and Navneet (BCA Sem III) got third position.
Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia congratulated the winning students and the departments on the successful organization of the events.
