Workshop on ‘Kitchen and Water Therapy’
Under the able guidance of College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal, NSS Unit , ECO Club and Red Ribbon Clubpof Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised a workshop on ‘Kitchen and Water Therapy ‘.Mr. Sanjeev Mehra, Star Ambassador of Fortunatar organisation along with his assistant Mr. Pradeep
were the resource persons. During this workshop, Mr. Sanjeev talked at length about the three levels to
test the purity and nature of the water and how it affects our body. He also gave a demonstration using
several liquids such as carbonated water, RO Water, and tap water as he performed a test to show how
harmful these liquids are for our body’s digestive system as they changed colours because of their PH
levels. He also suggested that we should restrict using carbonated waters and consider using the
method of stone therapy which enhances the purity of water and adds essential minerals to it . He
advised all the students and faculty members to consume the required amount of liquids to regulate the
acid levels in our digestive system . He also talked about the disadvantages of aluminium vessels and
white ingredients such as white sugar, refined wheat flour, white salt, being used in our kitchens as they
are abundant in sodium and sulphur, and thus are harmful for our body. Around100 students along with
their teachers and non teaching staff attended this workshop. College Principal, Dr Savinder Pal also
addressed the students and made them aware of the disadvantages of these white ingredients which
are termed as ‘white poison’ and how these can be substituted with healthy alternatives. Madam
Principal concluded the workshop with a formal vote of thanks and appreciated the efforts put in by,
Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr Lalit Kumar,NSS Programme Officers and Dr. Priyanka Aeri and Ms. Priyanka
Makhand , members of ECO Club and Red Ribbon Club for organising this informative workshop.
