“Swachhata di Lehar Pakhwada” from October 24 to November 7, 2024 to drive and promote awareness towards Garbage Free India
Under the able guidance of college Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, the college observed “Swachhata di Lehar Pakhwada” from October 24 to November 7, 2024 to drive and promote awareness towards Garbage Free India. It is a proud moment for Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara for receiving prestigious recognition as ‘Best College’ in the city based on the evaluation conducted by the team members of Municipal Commissioner, Phagwara. The team which visited the college, assessed various key
parameters including clean toilets, absence of vulnerable waste, proper waste segregation, horticulture pit, vermi composite bed, green house, strict policy against burning of waste, clean and green campus etc. The team expressed admiration for the well constructed vermi compost bed and horticulture pit. They also appreciated the efforts made for the exceptional waste management practices in the college campus. The college faculty members, Dr. Ruminder Kaur, College Vice Principal , Ms. Sanjna Walia and Mr. Kuldeep Singh visited Municipal Commissioner’s office to receive Certificate of Appreciation in recognition to its contribution towards Sawach Bharat Mission.Principal Dr. Savinder Pal expressed gratitude to Dr. Priyanka Aeri, Nodal Incharge of the ECO club, and her dedicated team, including Dr. Tavisha Singh and Ms. Swapnil Singh, for their outstanding contributions to the college’s cleanliness and eco-friendliness. She added that such high standards are a testament to the college commitment to creating a sustainable and enriching environment for all.
