Fourth day of NSS Camp

Fourth day of NSS Camp

The fourth day of the 7-day NSS Camp, i.e., 15th December, 2024, commenced with the worshipping of the God. On this occasion, a poster-making competition on the theme ‘Viksit Bhaarat 2047’ was organised. College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, enlightened the volunteers about the initiative taken by the Government of India, which envisions India as a developed nation by the 100th year of its independence in 2047. The volunteers also painted a wall on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ after being guided by Dr. Sudhamani Sood, Head, Department of Fine Arts. After this activity, the volunteers carried out a cleanliness drive in the college campus and cleaned the music room and NSS room of the college. The volunteers also painted a wall outside the college, promoting the importance of cleanliness and reduction in the use of plastic. A lecture on the topic ‘Life Skills for NSS Volunteers’ was delivered by Ms. Nidhi Jassal. She explained the meaning and aim of NSS and enlightened the volunteers about the National Service Scheme and the meaning conveyed by the colours of the NSS emblem. She told them that NSS is not only a community service but it also teaches us life skills. The aim of life skills is to bring about a change and development in human behaviour, as change is the law of nature, and there should be a balance between knowledge, attitude, and skills. This is also represented by the Rath Wheel of NSS as the cycle of creation, preservation, and liberation, which signifies the movement in life over time. She said that NSS helps the volunteers to grow individually and also as a group. In the evening, a fun activity was conducted by Ms. Nidhi Jassal by organising a game through which she practically taught the volunteers not to keep any grudges and solve the problems in time as it hampers the team spirit of a human being. She drew an analogy of 5 fingers of a human hand, each of which has its own unique characteristics and weaknesses but is capable of doing great things when united. NSS volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the day and enthusiastically participated in the games and activities.
