Fifth day of NSS Camp

The fifth day of the 7-day NSS Camp, i.e., 16th December, 2024, commenced with the worshipping of the God. On this occasion, a special lecture on the topic ‘Social Welfare’ was delivered by Mr.Desraj Banga, former Chairman of Guru Amardas Birdh Ashram, Bara Pind, Jalandhar. He said that social welfare is a system of laws and institutions that provides services to needy people, and it is an integral part of the progress of society as it reduces poverty and inequality, supports vulnerable populations, and contributes to the economic and social stability of the nation. On the fifth day of the camp, volunteers cleaned the college parking lot and the Botanical Garden. The volunteers also did painting on the theme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ on a wall outside the college. In the evening, another lecture was held by Mr. Harjinder Pal, Head of the Music Department of Govt. College, Hoshiarpur. He talked at length about ‘the importance of music for the mental development of students.’ He practically demonstrated how music calms our mind and helps relieve all kinds of stress. College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, also addressed the volunteers and enlightened them about the moral duties of a human being and how these duties shape the character of a good human being by helping them make decisions that are good for themselves and others. College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, appreciated the efforts put in by NSS Programme Officers ,Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar.
