Annual Fete at KNCW
Kamla Nehru College Celebrates 51st Annual Fete with Grandeur and Enthusiasm
Under the able leadership of Dr. Savinder Pal, the Departments of Psychology, History, Hindi, English, and Music of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organised its 51st Annual Fete 2025 on the college campus with great pomp and show. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Ms. Manju Sardana, Executive Chairperson of Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Ltd., who ceremonially cut the ribbon and released balloons into the air. The fete also celebrated the 60-year history of the college and its rich cultural diversity.
Students were dressed in elegant and attractive attire, adding to the vibrancy of the occasion. More than 700 people attended the event, which featured various stalls offering a variety of food, games, and cultural exhibits. The whole ambience of the event was reverberated with music and students were seen grooving on the dance floor with their friends.
A cultural program was also organized which enthralled the audience. The event concluded with a lucky draw, where ten prizes—including an LED TV, smartphone, microwave, juicer mixer grinder, hair straightener, smartwatch, double bed quilt, dinner set, hair dryer, and grill sandwich maker—were awarded on the spot.
The live commentary of the fete was handled by Prof. Harjinder Singh and Mr. Kamal Kaushal, while stage management in the auditorium was efficiently conducted by Madam Jyoti Bajaj and Madam Preeti Markanda. The event was widely covered by journalists Raman Sharma, Sushil Sharma, and Ajay Koshdar.
After the successful conclusion of the fete, Principal Dr. Savinder Pal expressed gratitude to the guests, students, and everyone who contributed to the event. She also congratulated the organizing team and the lucky draw winners, acknowledging their efforts in making the fete a grand success.
