The Bhagat Singh Society, NSS Unit, NCC Wing, Department of Fine Arts and Music, EBSB, andSports Club of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, celebrated Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm under the leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal. The celebrations spanned from 24th to 27th January 2025. On 24th January, Bhagat Singh Society organized a screening of the documentary History of India for the students. On 25th January, a patriotic song competition was conducted by the Department of Music and the NSS Unit. Savita Kumar won the 1st prize, Kajal took the 2nd position, and Jaspreet Kaur and Kamaljit Kaur shared the 3rd position, while Sonali received a consolation prize. The main celebration was held on 26th January, starting with a march by NCC, NSS, EBSB and Sports club volunteers. Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, Vice Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, NSS Programme Officers, NCC caretaker and faculty members hoisted the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. On 27th January, 2025, the Sports Club organized a 50m race under the Run for Fun competition. Guddi secured the 1st position, Roshni and Aarti shared the 2nd position, Manvinder Kaur came 3rd, and Radhika finished 4th. Along this, the Fine Arts Department held a poster-making competition, where Nisha Raj secured the 1st position, Maninder Kaur got the 2nd position, Jaspreet Kaur stood 3rd, and Kiran was awarded a consolation prize. The event concluded with Principal Dr. Savinder Pal appraised the efforts of the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Lalit kumar, Ms. Nidhi Jassal, NCC caretaker Ms. Tunish kaur, and faculty members Dr. Kamlesh, Dr. Sudhamani, Dr. Priyanka Aeri and Ms. Shubhasmita Sahoo for their hard work in making the celebration a success.
