On 22/11/2023, An Inter-School Competition was organized at Kamla Nehru College for
Women,Phagwara under the able guidance of College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal. The chief guest, Madam
Sita Rani from Senior Secondary School, Muthada Khurd, Goraya and the guest of honour, Madam
Balpreet from Cambridge School were welcomed by the College Principal and Vice Principal by
presenting them a memento. The competitions were held in two groups – first group included class 8th ,
9th and 10th and second group included 11th and 12th. More than 167 children from 11 different
schools of Phagwara participated in the Inter School Competition. Students competed against each
other in different events such as Best out of Waste, Cooking without Fire, Hair Style, Eye Make-up,
Poster Making, College Making, Solo Song, Science-Working and Non Working Model, and Rangoli
Competition.
Guest items were presented by the students of Swami Sant Das School, Kamla Nehru Public School,
Kanya Mahavidyalaya School, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The students of Kamla
Nehru College also enthralled the audience by singing folk songs. Students from different schools were
shown PPT representing college activities. In Science – Working and Non Working Models Group A, Ankit
from Divine Public School, Mamta from Adarsh Bal Vidyalaya were given first and second prize, while in
Group B, Madhvi from Govt. Girls College got first position. In Collage Making Group A, Anvi and Ramnik
from Swami Sant Das got first prize, Hansika from Divine Public School got second position where as in
Group B, Sakshi and Harsukh from Swami Sant Das Public School got first position and Ekta from Divine
Public School got second position. Shubham from Adarsh Bal Vidyalaya, Priyafrom Kanya Maha vidyalaya
and Heena from Putri Pathshala got first, second and third position respectively in Group A Rangoli
Competition while in Group B, Chahat from Swami Sant Das Public School, Anjali from Kanya Maha
Vidyalaya and Jaspreet from BCS, Khalwara got first, second and third position respectively. In the Best
Out of Waste competition Group A, Rashmi from Putri Pathshala, Sharandeep from Divine Public School
and Navleen from Adarsh Bal Vidyalaya got first, second and third position respectively, while in Group
B, Nisha of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya and Ruhani from S.D Putri Pathshala got first and second position
respectively.
In Poster Making Competition, Group A, Sukhpreet from BCS School Khalwara, Payal from B.C.S,
Phagwara and Kamya from Divine Public School got first, second and third position respectively,
whereas in Group B, Sirjan from Swami Sant Das Public School, Chahat from S.D Putri Pathshala and
Ritika from Divine Public School got first, second and third position respectively position. In the solo
song competition Group A, Bhavana from Swami Sant Das Public School, Amit from S.D Putri Pathshala
and Komal from Divine Public School got first, second and third position respectively, whereas in Group
B, Jaspreet from G. S.S. S. muthada khurd, Malvika from Swami Sant Das Public School and Divya from
S.D Putri Pathshala secured first, second and third position respectively. In cooking without fire, in
Group A, Jyoti from Putri Pathshala, Sunaina from B.C.S. Khalwada got second prize and Nimita from
Swami Sant Das got third prize, while in Group B, Kritika from Swami Sant Das, Navjot and Dilpreet from
B.C.S.Khalwada secured first, second and third position respectively.
In the Hair Style Competition Group A, Simranjeet from BCS, Hansika from Government School, Bada
Pind and Himani from BCS secured first, second and third position respectively, whereas in Group B,
Simranpreet from BCS, Angel from Divine Public School and Riya from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya school got
first, second and third position respectively.
In eye makeup competition Group A, Gunjan from Divine Public School, Diya from BCS, Neena from
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya got first, second and third position respectively, while in Group B, Tanisha from
Swami Sant Das, Pawandeep from Putri Pathshala, Komal from kanya Maha Vidyalaya got the first,
second and third positions respectively.
Special arrangements for refreshment were made for the whole gathering. Winners were
awarded with certificates and medals by the college Principal and Vice Principal of the college.
While addressing the students, Madam Sita Rani averred that college is giving a platform to the students
to bring out the hidden talent and help them in boosting confidence. She also added, with consistency
and perseverance , one can achieve success in life. Madam Balpreet, also inspired the students with her
motivational words. College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal congratulated all the participants for participating
and wished them good luck for their future endeavours. She also applauded the efforts of the
organisers Dr. Rinka , Ms. Manvinder and Ms. Anjali and teaching and Non- teaching members who
contributed one way or other way in making this event a great success.
