KNCW celebrated World Science Day
On November 11, 2024, Science Department of Kamla Nehru College for Women (KNCW) in Phagwara
celebrated “World Science Day” with enthusiasm and insightful discussions under the theme “Role of
Science in Society.” The event served as a platform for students to explore and reflect upon the
profound impact science has on our daily lives.
The celebration included engaging activities such as a group discussion and an interactive quiz, drawing
participation from around 40 eager students. During the group discussion, participants shared a wealth
of knowledge, delving into various applications of science and its relevance in addressing contemporary
challenges. The quiz segment brought an exciting and competitive spirit to the event, as students
eagerly participated in answering questions that challenged their scientific knowledge. The atmosphere
was filled with laughter and applause as participants showcased both their enthusiasm for science and
their dedication to expanding their understanding.
Dr. Savinder Pal, the esteemed Principal of KNCW, addressed the students, sharing her wisdom on the
critical role of science in society. She emphasized how their learning could translate into meaningful
contributions that benefit the community. Her inspiring words motivated students to consider their
