NSS UNIT and NCC UNIT CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY UNDER MERI MAATI MERA DESH CAMPAIGN from 09-08-2023 to 15-08-2023
Under the guidance of the Honourable College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated Independence Day under “Meri Maati Mera Desh ” campaign initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Government of India as the part of 76th Aazaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from 09-08-2023 to 15-08-2023. To mark the occasion several activities were organised.The NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Lalit Kumar and Ms. Nidhi Jassal, along with NSS volunteers, visited Chak Hakim village and planted saplings with the support of village Sarpanch Kulwinder Kumar. The NSS Volunteers planted saplings at the Government Middle School, Dargah, and BR Ambedkar Park. Panch Pran Pledge was also taken. A Patriotic song competition was organised in which students displayed their patriotic fervour. A rally was carried out under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Students also took selfies with Tiranga. The College Principal hoisted the National flag alongside staff members, NCC cadets, and NSS Volunteers followed by the National Anthem. Dr. Savinder Pal, the College Principal, commended the collaborative efforts of Dr. Lalit Kumar and Ms. Nidhi Jassal, the NSS Programme officers, and Dr. Palwinder Kaur NCC-CTO , Mr Kuldeep Singh and Madam Inderpreet for organizing this event and highlighted that such activities foster a sense of responsibility as citizens of India.
