Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign at Chak Hakim Village

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the NSS unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organized a “Swachhata Hi Sewa” campaign at Chak Hakim village in continuation of the ongoing campaign from 17th September – 2nd October,2024. The campaign focused on promoting cleanliness and hygiene awareness among the local community.

NSS volunteers actively participated in a cleanliness rally, engaging with villagers to emphasize the importance of a clean environment for a healthy lifestyle. They educated the residents about proper waste disposal, sanitation, and reducing single-use plastics. As part of the visit, volunteers also interacted with students at the village primary school, raising awareness about cleanliness practices at an early age.

College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, whose presence inspired the participants, lauded the efforts of the NSS Programme Officers Ms Nidhi Jassal and Dr Lalit Kumar and volunteers for their commitment to social causes. She encouraged them to continue taking part in such impactful initiatives.The campaign successfully instilled a sense of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, reinforcing the importance of the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” movement.
